Medical expense for Ray Cooper

On September 26th, Ray was working as a Reserve Police Officer which is a volunteer position. Ray was in the middle of his shift when he started having heart trouble. Medics responded and said he should be transported to the hospital. Once at the hospital he was transported code (lights and sirens) to St. Vincents Hospital where he had triple bypass open heart surgery. Ray is still in the process of recovery. Rays full time job does not include medical benefits and his wife's insurance covered most of the medical costs but there was a lot of expenses in just 5 days of surgeries, medications, and round the clock assistance. Ray has little amount of vacation time at his full time job (not police work) and cannot go back to work for a couple weeks. Things have been tight for the family to begin with and this unexpected cost and missing work will cause a huge set back.
