F*CK CANCER, ROY NEEDS US
Most of you know Roy, it's rather hard not to know a person with such a huge personality, in November my brother was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroendocrine carcinoma cancer, this is one of the worst kinds of cancer as there is no 'end' it can only be managed, no remission, no 'beating it' only managing it. Roy will be a lab rat for the rest of his life.
The initial surgery went well, but not with out a hitch, it lasted 3 times longer than intended as they found another large mass while he was opened up, they were able to remove this one as well, however it was discovered that a good portion of his colon / intestines were riddled with in-numerous small tumors.
The road forward for Roy will be a difficult one, Roy has always been humble and not someone willing to ask to for help even at such a dire moment. He Needs it now, it will be months before he is able to return to work and even with insurance his copays are quickly getting out of control.
So much of the process going forward is a mental will game and we all need Roy to stick around. He has enough to worry about without adding mounting debt to the mix, Roy has always been selfless and there for anyone when they needed it and now he needs all of us.
