Monica's Medical Expenses

Hello, My name is Jimmy Ruiz, and I am fundraising for Monica Rivas. Monica is Pastor Mauricio Rivas's daughter. Pastor Mauricio is the Hispanic Fellowship Pastor at Village Church in Beaverton, Oregon. I have known Monica and her family for over 12 years, and they have been a blessing to many families they serve, especially mine.

 

On Sunday, June 26, 2022, at 4:30 pm, Monica and two of her friends were walking on Lucia Falls Road in Washington State during a hot summer day in Moulton Falls Regional Park. The driver of an SUV crossed over the fog line and struck Monica and her friends from behind. Both of Monica's friends have been released from the hospital. Monica was critically injured. The driver of the SUV was uninsured.

 

Monica is hospitalized in a coma with multiple skull fractures. Monica is suffering from bleeding in her brain and fluid in her lungs. Monica was initially intubated, but she is now breathing on her own.

 

As the driver of the SUV is uninsured, the financial responsibility for Monica's medical expenses and recovery lies entirely with her family.
