Father's Home destroyed in Michael

My father in law, Bob lost most of what he owned including his House, his truck and 14/15 trees on his property when Michael hit on 10/10/18. Because he lived in a double wide mobile home it wasn't insured. This is because for coastal areas in FL, to have insurance on such a home is outlandishly expensive, plus it was paid off. You never think something like this would happen to you. So he's dealing with a lot of loss. We were in PA with him while we watched it on the news and we rushed home the following morning, driving all day and through the night. What we found upon arrival brought tears to our eyes. The amount of damage is simply unbelievable. You really can't even comprehend it. Every tree is down, every house is destroyed, every business is gone, every road and intersection and sidewalk and power line is destroyed. The help began pouring in immediately. We set this gofundme up initially to help him pay for a generator, but we found that his house must be replaced, so our new higher goal should assist with that endeavor. He plans to build a new house with a strong foundation (not a trailer). All proceeds go directly to Bob, he is the sole benefactor of this campaign. My wife and I's property was fine and we are housing him and supporting him as much as possible including paying for much of what he needs. Please only help if you have the means and were not affected yourself by Michael. Also, if you have the means, please help others affected by this tragic and devastating event. Our area may never be the same, but together, we will rebuild.


Initial story from 10/11/18 (Day after Michael hit):

Guys, I'll post pictures tomorrow when we get back . My wife and me and her Dad were up in PA during the storm on a short vacation. My wife and I's house are protected by insurance, however her Dad's house being a mobile home is not. His home was completely destroyed as well as his wood shop and car due to falling trees. His car was covered but I'd like to raise some money to help him pay for repairs to the house. He'll likely need to build a whole new house from what the neighbors have told us. We've had a tough time getting in touch with his neighbors so far as cell service is spotty. They haven't been able to send pictures yet. His neighbors are too preoccupied with their own damage to worry about his. The three of us are headed back home now to try to get his house fixed or to move his stuff. We don't yet know the extent of the damage but I know he'll need more help than we can offer him. I'll post pictures and more details as soon as get back which should be tomorrow.
