The Autism Awareness Father Son Hiking Appalachian Trail Campaign!
This is the story of a father and son who found happiness hiking the Appalachian trail together, and who made a pact to section hike the rest of the trail together. For years it was Chris's dream to hike the Appalachian Trail and furthermore hike the AT with his 9 year old Autistic son Simon. On June 16th 2019 (Father's Day) From the Unicoi Gap near Helen GA, Chris and Simon hike up the Appalachian Trail up to the top of Rocky Mountain. Along the way Simon asked Chris if this was his dream come true and Chris said yes, but told Simon that
his biggest dream come true was having him as a son and hiking the AT with him made it that much more special. When they reached the top and gazed out at the mountains in the distance, they made a pact to section hike the rest of the Appalachian Trail together. That is why we are raising money, to make this dream come true.
We also plan on filming our hiking adventures and making them for all to see on our Youtube channel. We hope to love close to the AT one day, so we can help maintain it. We also plan on doing public service announcements to help
teach people about the history of the AT as well as the importance of keeping it clean and preserving it for others for generations to come.
Funds raised will help cover the expense of traveling etc.
