A Helping Hand

I am currently recovering from a very serious illness. I was hospitalized November 7 and spent nine days in the hospital, 5 which were in ICU. I ended up on a ventilator after going into cardiac arrest. They were able to resuscitate me after a few minutes but I suffered 2 cracked ribs from excessive CPR. I have been out of work since November 6 without pay. I was in the hospital in May for CHF and was out of work 3 weeks, therefore using all of my sick leave & vacation time. I am still not able to return to work due to a very slow recovery. I’m on oxygen at all times. With no paycheck coming in for part of November, all of December and most of January likely, there is no way I can pay my bills. My wonderful & generous friends at work have donated gift cards for food & medicine, but I lay awake at night worrying about my bills. The bills don’t stop even without a paycheck. I want to go back to work ASAP but I have to get stronger first. I am very blessed and grateful to have been granted more life. But sometimes we all need a little help from our friends.
