Farrar-Delaney Catastrophic Accident Recovery Fund

On the evening of May 14, 2020, Ilan Farrar and his wife, April Delaney, decided to take a date night motorcycle ride in Frederick County, MD but on their way home, they were t-boned by a car; April absorbing the majority of the impact.  Both had to be medevaced to the University of Maryland R Cowley Shock Trauma Center. Ilan suffered a fractured pelvis, ankle, and foot as well as repair of his soft tissue from degloving.  April has sustained a fractured shoulder, a crushed kidney that was removed, internal bleeding of the liver and spleen and required reconstructive surgeries on her pelvis, sacrum, and lower leg, as well as amputation of two toes They both, face lengthy hospital stays, rehabilitation, therapy, and potential additional procedures.  They are lucky to be alive and their children and families are all so thankful they are still with us.


Ilan and April are the active and devoted parents to 3 children: 1 in college, 1 in middle school, and 1 in elementary school.  Due to the nature of their injuries, they will require at-home care and recovery assistance.  While they are a solid, middle class working family, April is a stay at home mom, Ilan, as the sole provider, will be unable to work during their long recoveries.  They do not have short term or long-term disability insurance and their savings will not be sufficient. Therefore we, their family and community, are rallying to help make them whole again.  We are hoping that by raising donations towards their rent, hospital charges, therapies, food, and other daily bills, we will allow Ilan and April to focus on getting better and be able to stay in their home and continue a sense of normalcy for their young children.
