Family Coffee Construction Project

Camnando Por La Paz Guatemala is working with a group of coffee produceers in Honduras. The project purchases coffee directly from the producers at a very farir price. The coffee is then sold in the U.S. The profit is used to improve the production in Honduras and to support the Educational Projects of the program in Guatemala.

The coffee project is entering it's second year. In the past year a number of needs have been identified. Some of these needs are more urgent than others. Among the more pressing needs is that of constructing an improved drying area for the coffee beans. once the outer shell of the coffee cherry has been removed the next process is drying. These are important processes in coffee production.
There are two typed of drying areas. (1) a cement area on the ground where the coffee beans can be spread to dry and (2) a greenhouse style area that serves as a solar dryer...this is the most effective.
We plan to start with the cement base which eventually will become the floor of a solar drying area.
