Support for the SWEETEST Family and their Babies

My best friends Rachel, James and Osara became a family of 5 suddenly on November 1st when they welcomed surprise twin girls! One became their guardian Angel shortly after delivery. Her twin sister, LaStella, is now in the NICU and will need the help of the hospital for the next several months.

The babies were born 3 months early. With babies born this early, there are many potential complications that may arise. I have seen many accounts of premature babies surviving because of the touch of the mother and father. I would love to see this family supported in this delicate time. How beautiful for them to be able to spend their days holding and nourishing this tiny little miracle, instead of leaving her at the hospital alone to go to “work.”

Rachel is the kindest, most loving human I know and this baby needs her mother at her side. No one can replace the love and care that this mama can provide for her baby. Rachel herself told me, “I really need to dedicate myself to her”

In order to do this, she will need support in many areas. Food, care for Osara, prayers and financial support. The community has been so supportive so far and she is so grateful!

This will be a long journey. My prayers are to see them financially supported for the next 5 months, so Rachel can focus fully on nourishing her new baby and James can work less hours when needed to be the great family support that he is!

The post birth “nesting time” is a very precious time for mom and baby, and Rachel values this nest so much! It’s a crucial bonding time for mom and baby which sets them up for a beautiful life. This is not the nest that Rachel imagined, but like always with Rachel, she has the most positive attitude and strong faith that all is happening as a part of God’s plan. However, she is human and emotions will continue coming in waves. Rachel told me she cries when she sees herself in the mirror and remembers the girls in the womb together. She has lost a child… And now she’s ready to give her all to the sweet baby who needs her more than we can imagine.
