family with disabled sister from damages caused by storm

Hi, my name is Jennifer. I’m trying to get help for my parents and aunt. Due to the storm on April 10th, 2024, a tree broke through their roof. The damage that this has caused is unimaginable.

My parents have been taking care of my Aunt since Hurricane Katrina. The home she was in during Katrina lost her and since then my parents said she will never live another day without her family. She has Down Syndrome, she is deaf and mute but she is the most loving and sweetest person in the world. She has been bedridden for almost 2 years now and requires constant care.

Dad had an accident right after retiring and needed brain surgery and since then he has seizures and also can’t be left alone for long periods of time.

My parents bought this home in December of 1999, I grew up in this home. This was always our safe place. The people on this street, they are our family!

Currently at this time my parents and Aunt are staying with me in my home in Slidell. We have my aunts hospital bed all set up and have her as happy as we can have her. I would do anything for my parents like I know they have and will always do for me.

Currently from what I know as of right now, pretty much everything in the home will need to be replaced. - beds, bedding, pillows, computer, dressers, computer desk, tvs, floorings, so many walls, the whole roof, ceiling, all attic work… honestly I can’t even think of the entire list. It just goes on and on.
