Family devastated due to arson by drug addict

I am raising money for a friend and her family who's had part of her home destroyed by a complete stranger in the early hours this morning while her, her husband, and her toddler slept inside. Someone had climbed onto their second floor patio, destroyed their wooden furniture, breaking it apart to make a fire using the propane barbecue. They all woke up to the explosion of glass from their windows around the patio, and the patio railing was glass. Flames were licking the ceiling and the strange man was out of his mind in the midst of it.
Here is the story in her own words.
"Here's a rant if I've ever had one.... Waking up to a huge smash and running out to find an obviously impaired man on our patio yelling.. He smashed out our window.. Matt thought he was breaking in. He was babbling and yelling not making sense acting wild. Matt was ready to get physical with this guy but Then we saw it. A massive fire. Our entire bbq was lit on fire and flames were roaring everywhere hitting ceiling. Matt starts screaming to get water or fire estingisher. I grabbed huge water jug from water cooler and Matt dumped it on. I was so f---ing terrified the full propane tank was going to explode! Then the massive glass panels on our patio exploded from the fire. Glass is everywhere and flames. This entire time the nutso guy who had now jumped to my neighbours patio and was screaming and babbling the entire time we were trying to get the fire out. The amazing Abbotsford fire department arrived so quickly thank God and went into action. They got ladder up and were able to get fire completly out.
As my heart rate starts to come down I start looking around and noticing things... Blood and glass all over my couch & my son's elephant teddy.. Our windows are smashed out. The patio is a huge mess. My treasured wooden table is taken apart and smashed into pieces... There's water and glass everywhere in our house. It smells like smoke. The police arrived and had to knock down our neighbours door to get that crazy yelling guy off the patio.
What I now know after talking to some upstairs neighbours, the firemen & police...
Neighbour heard banging & noises for the last couple hours and thought someone was having a party... That noise was that same babbling guy on OUR second floor patio breaking apart my treasured vintage wooden table and using the wood from it to light a fire in our brand new bbq we saved to get, to cook DRUGS, Cop mentioned "meth."
He climbed up to our second floor patio and lit a f---ing fire on my patio too cook his DRUGS while my 2 year old son was sleeping inside!! He could have seriously endangered us and many other people living in this building!
The police have him in custody and he's well known apparently... will be charging him with arsen and criminal mischief endangering lives or something like that? We've been told to stay away from the "crime scene"... Not touch or clean anything... There's tape up and we're now awaiting forensics team to come piece together exactly what happened. :(
I'm absolutely sick. Apparently we aren't safe in our own homes anymore, even on second floor "secure" buildings. I'm anxious as hell and don't know what we're going to do. I'm just thankful my son is ok and the fire didn't spread into our house thanks to the Abby fire team."
Ashley, Matt, and Jaxson (and their kitty) are now on the hook for these reapirs and to replace their items. I am raising money to financially help them, as they are not in any position to come up with the funds needed. Anything helps, a donation, a share, even just a comment of well wishes. They are all pretty shook up and shouldnt have to also worry about the financial aspects as well as their mental health. Thank you!
