Family reunion fund - Australia

My name is Angelique, I’m a proud mum of 2, Chloe and Brett.

7 years ago my lovely son gave his heart to an Australian girl called Katherine. He decided to emigrate to Australia! This has enabled him to have the best life.

We all have dreams of going to Australia right?

 

In 2020 Katherine and Brett decided to get married, they made the decision to marry in England. All the plans were laid down, all the invites were given out and everything was settled for November 21st 2020.  They would tie the knot in at a quaint little church in Haslemere, Sussex. 

But unfortunately Covid hit. Covid stopped our whole life from moving forward for 24 months.

In this time Brett and Katherine had a baby, a beautiful baby boy! My first grandson. Baby Loxley Joy.

Restrictions were lifting and we could see the possibility of travel. The excitement and experience of Australia with my boy and his beautiful fiancé! And my beautiful Grandson!

Brett and Katherine planned a wedding for the 29th April 2022 in a beautiful church north of Perth. They would also be celebrating my Grandsons 1st Birthday.

So we started saving and planned to jet off to Australia.. April 24th 2022!

Face time and WhatsApp was my saving grace.

 

March 5th 2022 I had an appointment with the Brighton breast clinic, I had noticed bleeding from my left nipple. On weds 23rd March Chloe and I went to get the results of the Mammogram, biopsy’s.

Within a minute of being in the consultants office I was diagnosed with breast cancer, invasive breast cancer. I needed an operation ASAP.

That afternoon I had to brave one of the most emotional FaceTimes I’d ever had with my son, with my daughter beside me I told him the news, ‘Mum has breast cancer, we can’t come to Australia, I need the treatment asap, postpone the wedding’.

 

On the 29th April I had my surgery.

 

I’m now two weeks post Op and feeling positive.

 

I need to raise additional funds because having had so much time off it’s eaten away at my Australia fund.
