On April 18, John was found unresponsive and rushed to the emergency room where it was discovered that in addition to the injuries sustained in a snowmobile accident the previous weekend, he had contracted several infections, including Meningitis. He's remained in critical care in the ICU since then. While he initially improved after several days and the infections were thought to be under control, a number of complications arose which led him to regress considerably.
It is abundantly clear that John was aware of his circumstances and fought as hard as anyone could have but the infections and combination of complications have proved too much to overcome. His family is beyond devastated to announce that after pursuing every possible avenue for treatment, John's health has reached a point in which he will not recover and is expected to pass within days, if not hours.
Funds will be used by the family to cover medical and memorial costs.
