Family Needs Relocation $ After Neighbor Drug RAID

Donation protected
Hello, My name is Ryan and I live on 26th Ave in Kenosha, WI with my girlfriend and her eight year old son who attends school in the area. On Friday, March 1st 2024, our upstairs neighbors were raided by the Kenosha County Sheriff's Office in conjunction with the Department of Homeland Security, after a package containing "roller blades" laced with cocaine was delivered to our apartment building.

The story that's been circulating National News Networks reports that over 1,000 grams of cocaine valued at around $35,000, money transfer documents from Kenosha to Bogota Colombia totaling over $30,000, and multiple forged documents were recovered in the raid. Since police raided the building, the tenants being investigated have been released and as per our landlord's statement will maintain “protected” residence at the property.

Kenosha Police have informed us that it is an ongoing investigation and that criminal charges are pending. When interviewed, one of the officers that executed the raid described the events as “something out of a Hollywood movie”, but the impact this has had on our everyday lives is far from entertaining. While authorities continue their investigation, our lives have become consumed with panic, worry and news headlines.

Due to the severity of the alleged crimes, the intensity of the investigation, and the amount of illegal drug money involved we believe that we are no longer safe here. We’re not just afraid for our safety, but greatly concerned for the safety of the children that reside here as well as the rest of our neighbors. Because of the impact that living in the middle of an open criminal investigation is having on us, we feel we have no choice but to leave the building and terminate our lease.

The video I have attached was filmed on my security cameras, which have since been taken down by my landlord leaving us feeling even more vulnerable here. In the video you can see me fleeing the building afraid that there might be a shootout right above where I live. As is often the case, we believe there’s much more than meets the eye to this story that continues to unfold.

We are not rich people. Both of us have suffered great hardships and this apartment was supposed to be a stepping stone to get us back on our feet. Instead, we are now forced to leave prematurely in the midst of a nation wide housing crisis.

Despite saving all that we can, we’ve fallen short of having the funds needed to relocate without any notice, move everything we have, and pay a security deposit plus rent for moving into a new place. Out of desperation we are asking the community for your help during this difficult time. We are extremely grateful for donations of any denomination and assure you that it will be put to good use allowing us to safely continue our honest, hard working, and determined lives. Thank you so much for your time, efforts, compassion and understanding.
