FAMILY IN CRISIS- Needs What You Can Spare

Donation protected
WHO I AM- The friend who wishes she had more so she could do more.

WHO THEY ARE- A loving, wonderful family of 4 and a service dog, who just started getting back on their feet when tragedy began to creep in a week ago in the form of COVID-19. These parents of 2 and a beautiful service dog have gone through hell this year as it is. They have also been on disability due to permanent health issues. They have handled losing their home and being completely homeless. Lived in tents until they were able to get into an affordable but not bug infested motel. Mom is even trying to homeschool through all of this mess! Dad being the only driver does the grocery shopping and laundry trip drop offs.

THE TRAGEDY- Two and a half weeks ago, Dad got mildly sick with what was thought to be a cold and it took him down within days. He was taken to the ER only a day after a test was done at his regular doctor for Covid-19 because he was struggling to breathe. He was transferred after a couple days in the hospital to another place. Everything seemed to be going well after they did COVID-19 treatment protocols. Then on 11/17 after just talking and being awake and okay the night before, he stopped breathing. They tried not doing intubation and putting him into a medical coma, on full oxygen but had to do just that on 11/18. On 11/20, his oxygen levels are low and we aren't sure what will happen over the next 24 hours.

11/24, he was brought into surgery to be placed on ECMO which is: "a form of life support that features a machine that performs essential functions of the heart and lungs. The ECMO machine is connected to a patient through plastic tubes that are placed in large veins and arteries in the legs, neck, or chest, according to the American Thoracic Society. Blood flows through the ECMO machine, which adds oxygen to the blood and removes carbon dioxide, then the blood is returned to the patient." The Dr. will update us soon on any stabilization or progress this has made.

THIS MOM IS NOT READY TO GIVE UP BUT SHE NEEDS YOUR HELP AND SUPPORT! THERE ARE SPECIFIC THINGS THEY NEED AND THE KIDS HAVE WISH LISTS FOR CHRISTMAS THAT WITH YOUR HELP, WE CAN AT LEAST TAKE THE BURDEN OFF OF MOM WITH A FEW OF THESE ITEMS BY PROVIDING DONATIONS.
