Family with unexpected hardships

We found out today that a friend of mine lost her job after 13 years at Battelle. She has been a loyal and dedicated employee, and as we all know many faces this challenge daily. We have known this family for years… since our 8th-grade girls used to be on the same gymnastics team for years. You could not meet nicer more down to earth people. They also have a high school daughter who will be thinking about college very soon.
Under normal circumstances, we would put leads out for a job for her, but the circumstances they face are far more than I knew as she is a strong, quiet proud wife and mother.
Their athletic, bright beautiful 8th grader had to have corrective scoliosis surgery back on December 19th. She is finally back to school but will continue her struggle to heal as well as the emotional strain of missing out on the school activities and sports she loves. As you can imagine, all of her vacation and sick time was used taking care of her daughter.
After talking to her today, I found out that her sweet husband has been very ill. He is currently in the hospital and is waiting to be placed on the kidney transplant list…placement he has been waiting for since October. He was finally placed on dialysis. She loses her benefits and salary at the end of the month.
Not once has she asked for anything. All she wants is a job to help her make a living to provide for her family.
They have been such a positive part of the Upper Arlington Community for so many years. I can’t imagine dealing with so many struggles and still maintaining my sense of humor and faith.
Even if you don’t live in this community, please help us help them. I have never done a Go Fund Me page so if you can all help in any way it would be amazing.
