Family Displaced By Barrie Tornado
On the afternoon of Thursday July 15th 2021, a tornado touched down in southeast Barrie. My Co-worker Brenda Walker’s daughter Carolyn and her family lost their home and most of their belongings. Although we count our blessings that Carolyn and her children, Julianne age 10 and Jack age 5, who where home at the time were unharmed as they made it to the basement just in time. Unfortunately, the tornado alert did not arrive until moments after the touch down had occurred.
Due to Covid-19 supply and production is suffering, therefore they will be displaced for a year or possibly two before the rebuild occurs. All monetary impacts have yet to be recognized but will be ongoing over the next few weeks/months. It is the daily items we use but take for granted that are all lost. They have lost their belongings and the joy they had in their own home. Life is unsettled and emotionally they are pulling themselves together. A burden many of us will never experience.
Please take a minute and Donate to the Walker/Wood Family, all proceeds are greatly appreciated
