Help the Feliciano-Alvarado family get through the aftermath of Hurricane Maria!
My grandparents, Don Victor Feliciano & Filomena (Mami Mela) Alvarado, had severe damage to their house during hurricane Maria. They lost the roof of their house, causing flooding and the loss of many priceless family photos and memories. My grandfather used to run a small corner store adjacent to his house and is now retired. My grandmother dedicated her life to raising her five children, the youngest, Oscar, who is physically and mentally disabled. They lived in this home since they got married over 50 years ago and it’s where they created many beautiful memories with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Prior to the storm, my grandparents, both in their 90’s, lived in their home with my disabled uncle, 57, who is confined to a bed and is fed though a feeding tube. Physically, they are doing well. Emotionally, my grandfather is very distraught at losing his home and spends most of his time playing the guitar to cheer everyone up and bring a smile to their faces. My grandparents are very proud people and would never even think of asking for any help so I am asking for them. They give some of the little they have to other that have less. I love them so much! That’s just how they are! We will be forever grateful for any help you can provide.

Mis queridos abuelos, Victor & Mamimela, y Tio Oscar necesitan su ayuda! Su casa sufrió muchos daños por el huracán Maria. El techo se derrumbo, toda la casa se lleno de agua y han perdido todo. Mi abuelo tuvo un colmado al lado de su casa por muchos años y ahora esta retirado. Mi abuela dedico toda su vida a criar a sus cinco hijos, el mas joven, Oscar, quien tiene distrofia muscular y también en discapacitado mentalmente. Ellos han vivido en este hogar desde que se casaron hace mas de 50 anos y es donde han creado muchas memorias con sus hijos, nietos, y biznietos.
Antes de la tormenta, mis abuelos, quienes están en sus noventa años vivían en su hogar con su hijo Oscar, 57, quien requiere el uso de un tubo para su alimentación. Fisicamente, se encuentran bien de salud. Emocionalmente, ellos están muy tristes al perder su hogar, pero Abuelo como siempre se pasa el tiempo tocando su guitarra para traer alegría a las caras de todos. Mis abuelos son muy orgullosos y nunca se les ocurriría pedirle ayuda a nadie, por eso es que yo se las pido por ellos. Siempre están dando de lo poco que tienen a todo el mundo. Los amo muchos! La familia les agradeceremos por siempre cualquier ayuda que les podrían brindar.
