MY FILM BACKGROUND
Hi, my name is Leo Powell and some of you have helped me previously to produce my first short film Step Back, which has now amassed over 2.2 millions views and was accepted in to a number of film festivals.
I was also able to produce another film in Feb 2022, entitled Bros for Life which was funded by the London’s Violence Reduction Unit and has amassed over 370,000 views since its release. If you haven't managed to see it, please click the link below.
NEW SHORT FILM INFO
Not one to rest on my laurels (excuse the pun), I am very excited to announce, that I am working on a new short film project entitled FALSEHOOD.
Even more exciting, is that Araloyin Oshunremi, who plays Stefan in the hit series Top Boy will be playing the lead character and Ricky Smart who played Jason in Top Boy Summer House is co-starring!
FALSEHOOD follows the life of teenager Richard, aka Reeks, who struggles with his identity as he caught between two worlds.
Identity is something that young people struggle with on a daily basis, with many feeling that they have to conform to a certain way of living, or to look or act in a certain way in order to be accepted.
My hope is that the film will show the struggles and consequences of living a lie and to also demonstate that you don't have to be pretend to be someone that you're not in order to be accepted!
