Fall Fundraiser - Adaptive Sports

Dear friends,
As you know, I have been very involved with Adaptive Sports at Mount Snow (https://msadaptive.org/ )for many years. The organization provides life changing sports opportunities, on a year-round basis, to people with any type of disability regardless of their financial situation.
And what a difference a year makes! With generous support and countless hours of tireless effort, we successfully launched as a fully independent, 501(c)(3) non-profit sports and recreation organization.
With Tera Adams as Program Director and Yuri Czmola as Assistant Director, we started out of the gate last November with dedicated and knowledgeable people to guide us. We now have a robust and growing participant and volunteer base, with 700 ski and snowboarding lessons given by 2,000 volunteer instructor hours during the winter season, reaching 200 individuals.
Winter program highlights :
- Kids of Courage, an event where 50+ children and young adults with life threatening disabilities came up for a day of “Ski Madness”
- Three days of Veteran-specific programs, with 36 vets on snow
- Expansion of the mid-week school program for local area youths, with special support from friends and family of Ingrid Walendy
- 12 athletes in the “Bluebirds” Special Olympics Race Team, with a haul of 12 medals and 8 ribbons at the Vermont Special Olympics Winter Games

- A successful launch of our summer program with Pedalfest, an “inclusive” mountain bike event, coached by former Down Hill Pro, Brian Bartlett
- Our first Teen Sleep Away Adventure Weekend, a weekend of independence and adventures in the Green Mountains - see more at www.msadaptive.org
