With the hope of being cancer-free and looking forward to reconstruction and getting back to normal life, hope was stopped in it's tracks the first week of January 2018 when she learned that her cancer had returned while on oral chemo.
Faithe is now facing another 4 months of infusion chemo, this time GemCarbo. Her oncologist has also ordered Next-Generation Sequencing to be used to sequence the genome of her cancer cells. There is a chance that this will lead to a discovery of what is driving the growth of her cancer which would then result in a targeted treatment so we have our fingers crossed.
The financial strain over the past year has been tremendous. Faithe is fortunate that she has medical coverage through her job, but is still currently responsible for over $15,000 of the $69,000 that her treatment has already cost. This expense does not include the new chemo that she will begin soon, so her medical expenses will continue to balloon.
Our hope with this gofundme is that we will be able to pay Faithe's out-of-pocket medical expenses as well as her current living expenses while she is undergoing this additional treatment.
