In August of 2017, the roof of the Fairfax Depot was damaged by a storm.
The wood shingles that are required by the National Register of Historic Places need to be replaced to preserve the integrity of the roof & the contents inside.
The cost of the shingles & labor will be over $30,000.00 (per multiple bids).
The insurance will only cover $10,000.00 of the expenses.
The depot has already substained water damage and in order recieve the insurance payment, the roof must be replaced this Spring.
