Help Us: Abuela's Medical Expenses

Losing an abuela/o is never easy. Losing someone who had so many years still ahead of them and had those years and moments robbed from them by the western medical system is even harder. Bobbi was full of snarky spunk, positivity and a passion for living every day...even in her last days, her main concern was everyone else but her. This lady was a living angel who made people lives better here on earth. Now we are faced with phenomenaly high medical bills that are expected to be paid even in a time of incredible hardship. It is absolutely  not the fault of any elder US citizen that our protecting government feels no guilt sending bills at prices as high as $400,000 from the hospitial to a widowed woman of a US Navy Serviceman who became ill not by choice and yet still expects immediate payment. This sends a chilling message that her lifes dedication to becoming a true US citizen and even patriot, married to a serviceman (from Scotland) who also became a US Citizen, meant nothing. Having only medicare to offset these costs with no secondary insurance to help, after only 8 months of medical bills and hospitalization, she was admitted to a center that promised to make her comfortable and gave hope that a return home was probable and would be completely taken care of by medicare. This was not the case. The anger, angst, confusion and deception are painful enough, but knowning we may lose all of her assets she held so dearly and her personal possesions to the US Gov/Medical system seems beyond wrong. We need help in this time of uncertainty and difficulty.
