Mom's Cancer Treatment

My mother Sara came to this country 40 years ago as a single mother who has worked tirelessly to support her children and provide them with the opportunities she never had.  She has always placed others before herself but now she needs our help.  She is currently using the strength that carried her through those long hours at work in order to pay for her children’s college tuition and build a better life for them to fight for her own life, and she can’t do it alone.

 For the past several years my mother has been battling breast cancer.  She beat cancer in 2014 but recently it has resurfaced in the form of multiple tumors in and around her neck.  She has been receiving treatment for this since January.  She has already received her first round of chemotherapy treatment from which she has responded well to, but she needs additional chemo and radiation treatments that are significantly more expensive.  She is scheduled to receive 15 radiation treatments throughout the next two months.  In order for these alternative treatments to continue we must provide funding out of our own pockets. 

My mother spends more time worrying about the financial burden her treatments have placed on her loved ones rather than focusing on recovering and staying in a positive mindset. The money raised will pay for my mother’s treatment but also give my mother the chance to fight her breast cancer with a strong, clear and positive mindset free of financial obligations and worries.
