Please help our baby!!!
For those of you who know me well... Know how truly difficult this is for me to swallow my pride and ask for help. However... I feel I'm out of options at this point. My fiance Maddie is 13 weeks pregnant, and was diagnosed with a subchorionic hematoma, as well as a dermoid cyst. Both are causing complications with the pregnancy. Due to these compilations, we have had numerous doctors appointments, as well as trips to the ER, with many more to come. The hematoma has doubled in size over the last two weeks, and now she is on bed rest in order to prevent a full placental abrubtion. This is when the placenta detaches from the uterus completely, putting the woman I love, as well as our beautiful unborn baby in a very dangerous, potentially fatal position. The dermoid cyst is also growing, putting her at risk of torsion. This is when the cyst begins to twist, cutting off the blood supply, and potentially killing her ovaries. Something that would prevent us from ever having another child. Now that we're in the second trimester, she is being scheduled for surgery to have the cyst removed. She will be unable to work for the foreseeable future. This has eaten up the rest of her paid sick time already. I'm working two jobs, as well as running to numerous doctors appointments, doing everything I can to take care of her. The insurance companies are hitting us with an ungodly amount of co-pays, and deductables. What is allowed to go on with these companies today in our country, truly makes me sick to my stomach.
We pay over $500 a month for medical insurance and in only 2 months we've had almost $2000 in co-pays and deductables. The fact that we pay so much money for so called "good" medical insurance, while getting hammered with medical bills, is completely disturbing. We are good, hard working, people. Maddie is one of the most caring, kind hearted people you will ever meet. The fact that I have to worry about the safety of my future wife, and our unborn child, when we pay for premium insurance... The fact that we work so hard to pay for better coverage, ultimately only to benefit people who do nothing to better themselves... People who leach off our system... is truly heartbreaking. We were even informed at our last doctors visit that "if our co-pays/deductables were not paid in full at the end of each visit, they could refuse further treatment". We were also informed that between treatments, and surgery... We can expect to pay somewhere between $5000-$6000, not counting the bills for the actual pregnancy. Were drained mentally, emotionally, physically, and financially. To anyone that is willing to help Maddie... To help our unborn child... To help all of us start our new life together...
