Help Brave Nicole Fight Cancer

Nicole has been fighting Leukemia for over 5 years. She was first diagnosed when she was 16 in March 2015 with B cell Acute Lymphoblasic Leukemia. Nicole didn’t go into remission as expected because her cancer is chemo resistant. After fighting for just under 3 years, she was finally in remission and off chemo. Unfortunately, she relapsed in March 2019. After another battle for her life using T-cell therapy, she was in remission and off treatment again. Tragically, we have just been informed she relapsed again after a fight with Covid 19 that almost claimed her life.
We live in Rapid City, South Dakota, and there is no treatment here for ALL. We have had to travel for every appointment, every port chemo treatment, every hospitalization has been 300+ miles away from home. Last time we had to temporarily relocate to Denver, Colorado. This time, like the last time, we will have to relocate to Denver, Colorado for treatment. The cost of medical bills and housing is astronomical. Because of the expense over the last almost 6 years of travel, medical expenses, housing in Colorado for after/follow up care, we can no longer afford to fight.
Nicole is 21 and has spent over 80% of the last 5+ years fighting for her life. This is her last battle, win or lose. Nicole has been knocked to the ground again, and is still willing to fight for her life, even after all the pain, fear, and loneliness treatment caused in her life over the last 5+ years. She has experienced very little beyond being sick from chemo, fighting to survive and being isolated due to her illness since her battle began.
As a Mother, I have watched her battle so hard, and her bravery is something I can’t even describe. Nicole has become my hero over the last 5+ years. I will admit, she handled the news better than me. She is truly a remarkable, amazing, beautiful person with an amazing resilience rarely seen.
In the past we have paid for most of the expense ourselves, and just can’t do it anymore. We are reaching out to our community and asking for help. Being born and raised in South Dakota, I know how generous and kind people in my state are.
Please, if you can, help my brave daughter in this final battle for her life we would appreciate it. We are grateful for anything you can offer as it will go directly to Nicole’s medical expenses and help relieve the financial burden we are going through.
