Equipment for MD patient Dan :)
Donation protected
Hi there! My name is Dan Temple and I am a 42-year-old quadriplegic living with muscular dystrophy. Muscular Dystrophy is a progressive illness that, over time, has left me with no use of my muscles below my neck (for those that are interested, my specific diagnosis is Spinal Muscular Atrophy). As a result, I am confined to a wheelchair, and spend most of my time in front of my computer.
Recently however, I have lost the remaining strength in my hands. I can no longer operate a trackball or mouse. This development has made it impossible for me to use my computer for emails, social activities, watching movies, playing games, calling my friends on video-conferencing, etc. Basically, all the things you do in a normal day, I used to do over my computer.
However, there is hope! There is a piece of equipment called a Head Mouse that allows someone like me the ability to direct the mouse cursor with the movements of their head. Here is a link, if you're interested in seeing how it works:

The company was nice enough to send a test model for me to evaluate. The device worked perfectly for my needs. However, this device is not paid for by insurance and costs around $1300. I only make about half of that amount a month, and could never afford to pay for it myself.
This is where you come in! If you've read this far, I greatly appreciate your time. If you can take the time and donate a small amount I would be most appreciative. Your donation would help to greatly improve my quality of life. Thank you very much, and may God bless you.
