Let's Help Colin Breathe Easy

If you live around Lake Sawyer and Sawyer’s Village, you have more than likely seen Colin walking.  Walking to the bus, walking to the store, walking to Jessica’s…  Some of you have even picked him up and given him a ride -- Thank you!

With all those footsteps, you might assume Colin’s a pretty healthy guy.  So it was a surprise when he recently “landed” in the hospital for a week with what the doctors called an asthma attack!  He never had asthma before. 

Once the medical professionals got Colin’s emergency situation under control, it took 5 more days to get his lungs working properly so his oxygen saturation didn’t drop as he just walked down the hospital hallways.  He was on oxygen for 5 of the 7 days he was hospitalized.

Even though he is covered under my insurance, there are still almost $5,000 in out-of-pocket expenses.   Colin has a job and was released to go back to work yesterday. However, it is on-the-job training at minimum wage and the position will end soon.

I have hope that this debt will not be hanging over him for a long time and he can 'breathe' easy :)
