Help Kurt survive this syndrome!

My oldest brother, Kurt Messner (42), was just diagnosed with Guillian-Barre Syndrome (GBS). This is a rare disorder in which your body's immune system attacks your nerves. The cause of GBS is unknown and is a rapidly attacking syndrome. Within the last three weeks he has gone from living a normal lifestyle to being wheelchair bound, continual numbness (both hands, feet and his mouth), unable to eat properly and constant back pain. Kurt has been admitted to Chester County Hospital's Intensive Care Unit undergoing Intravenous Immunoglobulins. Kurt is expected to be there for 2-3 weeks. Unfortunately a full recovery can take up to 1 year of intense rehabilitation and numerous hours with specialists. Kurt's health care coverage was supposed to go into effect October 1, 2014. Sadly this is now being considered a pre-existing condition leading the Insurance Company to deny payment.
Kurt is a loving father to David (20), two elementary aged boys (Dylan and Brandon) and a beautiful 16 month old daughter (Stephanie). His fiance, Melissa, is trying to work as much as she can while juggling taking care of the household and kids during his absence.
As many people know, I would never ask for help! I can not do this on my own and neither can my parents which is why I am turning to you, our friends and family. My goal is to help Kurt's family stay under their roof during his treatment and recovery.
The funds which I receive from this and other future fundraising events will go towards paying their mortgage, utilities, medical bills and the basic necessities to survive this unfortunate time.
