Leo The Bravest
Don protégé
This past June 2019, 3-year old Leo was diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), a type of blood cancer that causes the overproduction of immature white blood cells.
At the time of diagnosis, Leo presented an enlarged mass (the thymus glad) located on his chest. This was life threatening if left untreated. Leo started chemotherapy immediately in order to stop the growth and reduce the size of the mass. At the same time, he begun the process to treat his condition.
Leo has been taking and reacting to treatment like a true warrior. With its ups and downs due to the side effects but always with a great spirit and a big smile. Leo is a patient at Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami, FL where he goes every week for check-ups and to receive his scheduled chemotherapy. Leo has already endured 9 months of the hardest part of the chemotherapy treatment. He will be entering the Maintenance phase of chemotherapy treatment which will last until Oct 2022.
I have created this profile to raise funds to provide some assistance with costs related to his healthcare for the next 3 years. These include deductibles, max out-of-pockets, and out-of-network fees such as doctors and specialists who are not within Leo's insurance network. 100% of your help, as little as it can be, will be used to cover costs associated with medical procedures, emergency check ups, hospital admissions, follow up appointments, and chemotherapy. In the near future and while Leo continues to go the distance with his treatment, I know he will be thankful and proud to have all of you supporting this cause.
Please walk together with Leo on this process and let's show the world that beating childhood cancer is in our blood.
Til the Love Runs Out,
Team Leo!
