Extraordinary 2017
Tax deductible
Partnership for Extraordinary Minds (xMinds) was founded in 2009 to address the great need for an organization to unite parents, professionals, and educators in advocating for improved educational services for students on the autism spectrum. We believe that positive school experiences, both academic and social, will translate to better outcomes for our children when they transition to employment or higher education.
We hope that 2017 will be a pivotal year for our organization. In addition to educating parents and professionals about the cognitive, behavioral, and social/communication challenges of students on the spectrum through our monthly speaker meetings , we will host a Be Safe interactive training to teach young autistic adults and teens how to interact safely with law enforcment. Your donation will help fund this training.
Your donation will also allow us to update our technology infrastructure to better support our members and provide them valuable opportunities to connect with and support each other.
Finally, with sufficient funding, we will launch our Connect2Peers program that will match students on the autism spectrum with typical peers to work together on Student Services Learning projects in our community.
2016 has been an emotionally charged year for many Americans. We have witnessed a number of shootings across our country, including one involving police who shot a caregiver for an autistic man. During times like these, we need to recommit ourselves to values that we can all believe in. For xMinds, this commitment is to fighting for the continuous improvement of the educational experiences and outcomes of students on the autism spectrum.
You, too, can make a difference for students on the autism spectrum in Montgomery County! Please make a tax-deductible donation to Partnership for Extraordinary Minds (xMinds) today. With your help autistic students in Montgomery County can flourish.
