Friends, I need your help.
I am stripped bare of pride and ego. Things have become incredibly difficult financially, and I am reaching out for any aid and goodwill you can spare.
Friends, here's the sad tale.
In February, I lost my job of eleven years. The short story is that I was terminated unfairly and I've been fighting it ever since. Unfortunately, my fight has thus far been in vain. Also, after only 8 weeks of unemployment, my former employer fought to stop payments...and somehow they won.
To make matters worse, my constant search for employment since February has yielded no results. I have been driving for Lyft to earn some money, but it has not proven a reliable source of income.
In a stroke of galactic misfortune, at the same time I lost my job, my girlfriend (with whom I live) was diagnosed with cancer. Her course of treatment made it impossible to work with any consistency. We were both unemployed and she was so sick and to be blunt...every day was a struggle.
While she is now doing better, there is still surgery ahead. Even though we are very positive in her health outlook, the almost 5 months since this all happened have been financially lean. We are now in legitimate danger of both losing our only car and eviction.
Friends, I am desperate.
If any of you can help, I will be forever grateful. I have no way to pay back anyone, beyond my unending appreciation and gratitude.
