A DANCE, COMMUNITY & SOCIAL CONNECTION RESEARCH PROJECT
* Why has dance been part of every culture since the beginning of known time?
* What is the relationship – if any – between Dance & Social Stability?
* What is it about dance that brings us so much joy, health, vitality and healing?
* How does safety (i.e. the concerns around the #metoo age) play a factor in our modern culture in regards to this ancient language all cultures have spoken?
Questions like these and so many others are brewing inside me as I draw closer and closer to starting this project. Here is a snippet of what is planned:
Goal: To travel the US of A, dropping in with local conscious dance communities for 2-3 weeks at a time to really get a feel for the community and the Souls in it. There will be individual interviews, dances, and most likely offerings of the in-person class “Exploring Safe Connection ” – which stirs much in and of itself.
From there, the intent is to stay open and allow the flow of the Dance to show me what else is needed to be explored with these questions in mind. To stay open to talking with other dancers in other forms of dance – and those who might not even like dance but have some ideas on it!
Starting: Most likely early April – and this is in the flow depending on a few things. Will keep you updated!
Duration: For now (Jan 2019) the plan is to set sail from April thru the rest of 2019. However, depending on those “few things” – it might be a more ongoing life project!
