Expansion & Beer License

What a year! We (STAB! Comedy Theater) opened our doors in the Spring/Summer of 2018 and boy have things changed since then...in a good way.

Since beginning that terrifying journey of opening a theater nearly a year ago, we (STAB! Comedy Theater) has become a staple of the Sacramento comedy scene, by providing our patrons and performers shows on four nights a week and classes for newbies who've wanted to take their first steps into the comedy world. Our brand of subversive, offbeat programming and passion to perform has been met an overwhelming response from the Sacramento community.

In the beginning, we were sharing our beloved building with the good folks of Riving Loom Arts. But after bunking with our artsy partners for 10 months, both ours and their popularity had us bursting at the literal seams! So, Riving Loom Arts has made a move to their very own home, allowing us (STAB! Comedy Theater) to take over the entire space! (Yeah, scary...and exciting)

With these new changes comes little bit of adjustment. Now, the front area (formerly Riving Loom Arts) will be our bar and lobby. We will also be installing a small stage in that front room as well for smaller shows.

We are currently in the process of getting our Beer Only License (Type 40) alongside all of the  "prettying up" of the new space. We are looking to get some better signage and lighting up on the front of the building, as well as a small lighting and sound set up inside. Unfortunately, all of this costs more money than we currently have in our dry, dry pockets.



STAB! Comedy Theater has sustained itself thus far pretty well. All monies from our opening year have been put back into the business for expenses and small incremental upgrades. No money has gone to salaries.  

We (STAB! Comedy Theater) hope that you will join us on this "level up," by coming out to shows and continuing the support you've already shown and also helping us reach our upcoming financial goal. Thank you for this first year and thank you in advance for the years to come!
