Support Naturopathic Medicine in Virginia!
Did you know that medically-trained naturopathic doctors can order labs in all 22 states that offer a practice license...prescribe necessary medications in 13 states...are recognized as primary care providers in 12 states...and are credentialed by health insurance companies in 6 states...but are unable to offer any of these health care staples, in Virginia?
This limits a naturopathic doctor’s ability to best serve their patients, and consequently limits your access to naturopathic medicine in the Commonwealth.
Many medically-trained naturopathic doctors do not practice in Virginia at all, because the lack of state licensure means that their ability to practice is so limited.
In January, the Virginia General Assembly will again have the chance to put in place a responsible regulatory framework for naturopathic medicine. We have the opportunity over the next several weeks and months to work to give naturopathic doctors -- and their patients -- a more holistic scope of care.
Do you want increased access to naturopathic medicine? Would you like to help ensure patient choice when it comes to health care? Want to protect public safety and promote transparency?
