We are a Deakin University student-led group of film makers, currently in the making of our important short film 'Exile'.
Exile is a drama, following the journey of a closeted 19-year-old woman, as she attempts to come out. It highlights the common struggles that LGBT members face when coming out and the importance of platonic love and acceptance in LGBT relationships. Exile aims on providing LGBT youth and closeted members with relatable content, helping them steer away from feelings of solitude.
Deakin University doesn't supply any financial aid.
Any donations help us with casting salary, props wardrobe & makeup, transport, sound mixing, crewing meals, post-production costs and distribution efforts.

Blair's relationship with her family comes to a fiery halt as she is banished onto the street after her conservative father finds out that she’s gay. She seeks safety and comfort from the only person she has left, her best friend, Sasha. Blair struggles to summon up the courage to come out to Sasha, haunted by the recent abandonment of her father.
A call from Blair's father leaves Blair no choice but to have the hard conversation she has been avoiding. She risks losing the most important thing in her life right now; platonic love.
The film is written and directed by Eliza Knaggs.
