It is amazing the destruction a tiny insect can create.
Our daughter Jessica was diagnosed with Lyme disease 2 1/2 years ago. The tiny insect that bit her was a deer tick mostly found in the mid-west. That life-changing bite caused her to be bedridden with symptoms of fatigue, migraines, pain all over her body, light and sound sensitivity, digestive issues, and more. We took her from one doctor to another. All the could do is treat symptoms rather than putting the disease in remission. Because of Lyme, she ended up with comorbids such as Chronic Epstein Barr and POTS which caused her to faint many times a day.
Jess had to give up hiking, cooking, and running. She had to drop out of music school due to brain fog and not being able to hold her flute up long enough to play. She has dreams of a future that she cant reach. Jess shows kindness to everyone and her dog Starr gives it right back to her which is comforting to her when facing depression.
September 4th we found a knowledgeable Lyme Literate doctor in Scottsdale, Dr. Ken Mitchell. He put her on a treatment plan which consists of over 30 different things from powders to pills to drops. She has to detox and heal enough before attacking the Lyme which is deep in her cells. This will take many months and has been costing over $1000 per month. It is unfortunate that insurance will not cover anything.
We appreciate any help for out daughter so that she can have her life back.
