Jackie’s Mount Snowdon Climbers

Hi my name is shannen! Me and 8 others will be completing the big climb up Mount Snowdon in Wales on the 9th October 2021 to raise money for my beautiful mum, your support would mean the absolute world small or big. 

My amazing team is made up of myself Shannen Parry, Katie Batho, Kristy Lucas, Jodie Laws, Joy Poole, Claire Allsop and Gina Allsop, Kelly Skipp.

This year unfortunately my mum was diagnosed with the big ‘c’ word as you can imagine this was the biggest shock of our lives I am my mums only child and honestly the bond we have is unreal she truly is my best friend and I don’t know what I would do without her! She has been undergoing chemo therapy for the past 6 months and it has been the toughest most emotional year of our lives it has not been the easiest road with more than enough complications but I honestly couldn’t be more proud of my mum how she has grabbed the bull by the horns to defeat this even though some weeks have been really tough. So a little overview is that it has spread to her ovaries, cervix, womb and lymph nodes and she also only has 1 working kidney due to the progression of the disease, My mum is about to under go surgery to hopefully have this all removed all being well so we thought.. but as the C hasnt been picked up and it’s been left for to long years infact it has progressed, my mum is now at stage 3 which is a high grade of C cells meaning my mum may not be in remission for very long and this came at a huge shock the medical professionals telling us that the cancer will eventually come back somewhere else, we have no clue how long my mum will be in remission for so I want to try and raise funds for my mum to have a better quality of life as she deserves this so much she is the most amazing mum and nanny to my little girl and she has always worked hard for what she has, now it’s time to repay the favour in helping her live her life to the fullest! My mum is one of the most selfless people I know and she would do anything for Absolutley anyone!

Unfortunately travel insurance is through the roof for abroad holidays with this kind of disease so their has been talks of wanting a caravan a home from home holiday home where she can take a drive to enjoy special time away weather that be peacefully or with her loved ones making the most amazing memories! I would love to raise enough money to make this possible!!
