Hello, my name is George,

I launched this page hoping to raise funds for an existing medication for my dearest friend Suzy Ghawi Sabbouh's niece (Sarah) living in Lebanon. Please view Sarah's video and read the text under it by clicking read more.

Sarah, a 26-year-old, suffers from cystic fibrosis and severe bronchiectasis since birth, two chronic conditions that impact the lungs and digestive system, and impair one's quality of life. She receives treatments around the clock and more than five times a year on average while being hospitalized. She continues to experience respiratory distress, severe overall status deterioration, and weight loss.

At this stage of her illness, she qualifies for a lung transplant, but the procedure is not financially possible. Sarah's sole option is to try kaftrio-Trikafta treatment/medication because of the likelihood that she will improve from it. The fact that this young lady cannot afford the medicine that might make all the difference, adds to the emotional and medical difficulties she has already had to deal with. In essence, Kaftrio-Trikafta, a potentially life-saving drug, that has been demonstrated to considerably enhance lung function and general health outcomes for persons with cystic fibrosis, may be Sarah's only chance at survival.

Sarah is a hardworking, smart, and gifted individual. Her health prevented her from continuing what she truly enjoyed, including law school, teaching private lessons to university students, starting a small business from home, etc., some of these initiatives used to generate an income that helped pay for her medications and medical expenses.

She is unable to purchase the pricey medication ($6000/month) on her own due to Lebanon's unstable economic situation. Even so, while relying on oxygen 24 hours a day, she is exerting every effort, including working online as a law intern for an Organization to increase her income for extra help. That shows how determined she is to combat this illness.
