Everesting ANZAC Hill

Donation protected
I am attempting the mind numbing feat to raise money for the Radiology Department in Alice Springs Hospital. All Money donated will go directly to the department with the target being $20,000 (the cost of a new robotic CD burner).

Call me crazy, but on the 6th of April I’m attempting to ride my bicycle the accumulated elevation of Mt Everest, 8,848m (29,029ft) in Alice Springs. You might ask: What hills are there in Alice? A fair question. My response: ANZAC Hill. Yes, I am going to climb ANZAC hill 330 times in 24 hours.

The rules are simple:

It must be ridden in one attempt (i.e. no sleeping in between)
Completed within 24hrs
Rides cannot be loops. The decent must be via the same road (no going through the car park for those who know ANZAC Hill).
No section of the ride can be WALKED.

Statistics:

330 repetitions.
Average gradient of 9.2%.
Maximum gradient of 17.4%.
Total distance 178.2km.
I will burn in excess of 10,000 calories.

Update:
Good afternoon,

I have spoken with a representative of the Drovers Volunteer Service and I will be withdrawing the raised funds personally and then donating to the Drovers Volunteer Service. Contact person at the DVS is Nella Willis. I will be able to provide proof of transfer if anyone requests.

Thank you all for donating.
