Hope for a Struggling Mom

I'm in a position where I need to raise my hand and ask for help, which is not easy for me. I am humbly  sharing my story as an example to others in my circumstance that they might share and ask for help, during this opiate pandemic, to fully focus on recovery, rather than suffer silently and die. I had a cervical disc replacement at the end of last year, and I have been struggling before the surgery with pain and the effects on my mental health, and since the surgery, with the consequences of opiate pain medication/addiction. Being out of work, as my career is fitness, has been a huge financial stress, and an emotional loss of my greatest coping mechanism. I am now faced with the task of having to move to new housing with 4 children, without any financial means to do so. I was in a hit and run car accident in June of 2016 that caused my neck injury to go from bad to worse. I've been relying on the eventual miniscule payout from my auto insurance on this to help me catch up on bills and past due rent. Last month, I found out that this will take another few months, now that my health insurance that paid for my surgery wants to be reimbursed from the auto policy.

I've asked my  friend Martie to help set up this GoFundMe to help me get back on my feet, as I focus on healing and recovery, and not using opiates, no matter what. I have been successful in recovering my life in the past, and I promise to fully give it my all again. I will be transparent in my journey in hopes to reach others who are suffering, and as a token of gratitude, for you choosing to help me. At the very  least, this campaign could show others that those who raise their hand and ask for help get the help they need. All money will be used toward housing/moving costs, child care that I desperately need in order to attend meetings/outpatient treatment, healthcare costs related to treatment, and to spread the message of recovery. You can also help by getting started on improving your health and fitness by purchasing a Challenge Pack at my coaching website: http://www.beachbodycoach.com/kristynydam.

To ensure the integrity of the donations, I originally sought help from trusted friends who don't have this same battle to manage the campaign funds. I understand it's a big responsibility that they couldn't take on. Therefore, I will set up an integrity  card account for family to oversee, and share all receipts and accounting, as I document my recovery on my Facebook page. http://www.integritycarecardus.com

I set up HopeRaw to be transparent in my journey, so that I might encourage others to have hope and ask for help/support, not just financial, but also an example of what can happen, and how life can change, when we stop hiding out of shame, because we struggle with addiction, and raise our hands and find our voice.

In 2016 there were 59,000 overdose deaths. That death toll doesn't even take into account the others that died from addiction by going to the bitter end like my father, or those who ended their suffering by suicide, or homicides from the dangerous lifestyle. It's the silence that allowed 59,000 to die last year. Maybe breaking anonymity will start to save lives. Follow HopeRaw where I break my silence in deep gratitude to everyone helping me.  https://www.facebook.com/HopeRAW.
