Evelyn's Healing Journey of Hope

I was diagnosed with lupus (an autoimmune disease) 5 years ago. It has been a struggle since then to make ends meet. I have daily fatigue and pain that make it difficult to work. Even when I do work, it is not nearly enough to cover my living and health expenses. I am currently working on a case for receiving disability insurance. However, that determination is long in coming. I won't get a hearing for another year and won't even hear back about the determination for up to 6 months after that! That means for the next year and a half, I am on my own for paying for medical expenses, food, education, and everything else that makes living possible without going into even more debt. Because of my illness, I have ended up with thousands of dollars of debt and am struggling to make the monthly payments on those debts. I really need help to make it through this tough time in my life.

I dream of making a difference in others' lives through telling my story. I want to be a full-time artist and reach out to others and let them know that they are loved, understood, and beautiful. The journey is beautiful. It is also very, very difficult sometimes. This is one of those times for me. So, I am asking for your help to support me in this time of my great need so that I can live that dream and, in turn, help others.

The funds from this campaign will be used towards the following: paying back medical debt; paying for an upcoming health and self-love program that I truly believe will help me more than anything else that I've found for my healing; alternative healing modalities (such as natural injections for my joints which has really helped in the past and neurofeedback); new eyeglasses (mine are 5 years old and not the right prescription but I haven't been able to afford new ones yet); a new chair for my desk (I'm using a folding chair with pillows which is not helpful for my joints); window coverings for my bedroom (this will help my sleep very much); shelves for my closet (I have things in piles right now and it is getting very hard to find things especially when I'm having a flare); and educational expenses after I have used the funds for the aforementioned items - to help me move forward and begin to make a life that I love and supports my health in a manageable way (a new computer as mine is unable to support the software I need, DSLR camera for my upcoming class, supplies for my art classes).
