Evacuate “Ya Kamal” and his family

We are a group of friends (Nurul Haizum, Nurul Hayyani, Nurul Ain and Raihan) who have been regularly collecting funds over the past few months and sending it over to cover some living expenses including food for Kamal and his family.

You may know this child from the tragedy on the 10th of October last year, just 3 days after the 7th October attack. That day, their house was bombed by an airstrike. That day, we were all traumatised by his viral videos in which he was seen wailing and screaming for his martyred brothers Ahmad and Firas. He said that from under the rubbles, he could hear her brother Ahmad was calling his name ‘Ya Kamal! Ya Kamal!’ and that voice had eventually disappeared. That’s when he knew that his brother had gone. We can’t stop hearing his voice wailing for his dead brothers. He wanted to kiss his brothers for the last time. He waved his hand while saying ‘ma’a salama ya Ahmad. Ma’a salama ya Firas’. -“Good bye ya Ahmad, good bye ya Firas”. It has been traumatising us till this day.

Kamal’ arm was fractured from that incident. His parents were severely injured. He has two other younger siblings named Farah and Abdul Rahman. After their house was destroyed, they took shelter at the Nasser Hospital camp area before they all moved to Rafah and live in a tent - till this day.

Kamal has not received proper treatment for his broken arm due to the lack of medical care and attention in Gaza at the moment. His mother is severely sick too and has difficulty to move - due to the injury sustained following the attack and she is heavily pregnant. They reached out to us through his relative, Mohammed Arafa (also in Gaza). Kamal sent his videos from time to time to update us with his family current conditions. Not until recently, his family has started to ask for help. They need help to be evacuated into the Egyptian side. They need to get the proper medical treatments they deserve due to the prolonged injury. His mother needs a proper place to give birth and to nurse her baby soon. Kamal and his siblings need a better life - better education, medical care, a comfortable house and most importantly, SAFETY. By moving them into a safer place, we will give the children back their childhood. They only be children once, let’s not take their time for being a normal child earlier than should be.

Let’s cure his sorrow and the burden on his shoulders of losing his two brothers right in front of his eyes. We may not be able to undo things for him, but we can help him to rebuild a better ones.
