This is the story of how a tiny abandoned cottage became mine and Eva's new home.
On June 30 Eternal Anchor hosted a staff retreat out at Costa Brava. We were all overwhelmed by the beauty of the ocean and the surrounding landscape. On the way out, I pointed to a tiny abandoned white house and said, "That is my new house." Everyone, including me laughed at the possibility.
My son rented a house in Costa Brava the following week for a Forth of July vacation. While I was at his rental, I decided to walk down and look in the windows of the tiny abandoned house.
On Friday, July 6, Costa Brava hosted a community potluck. I was invited. I inquired if anyone knew who owned the tiny abandoned house. The owner's name was Barbara and there was much speculation as to whether or not she was interested in selling it.
The following Monday I stopped by the home of the Costa Brava property manager. She made a quick phone call. While Barbara hadn't thought about selling, she was open to the idea. When I left, 15 minutes later, she had accepted my offer and the deal was struck.
I wish I could put into words how truly overwhelmed I am by God's grace. Yet, in His infinite wisdom, He decided that Eva and I needed this blessing.
There have been a few budget busters along the way and, as of this week, my budget is officially busted. Oftentimes God requires us to ask for help to complete a task He has assigned us. I need your help to complete this project.
