Dear Family and Friends,

As many of you may already know Andrea Poyotte has been battling Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) for over 40 years. Until recently, her past crises have been limited to her limbs however; the SCD along with an autoimmune disease is now attacking her organs. This expanded crisis has placed her in tremendous pain causing her to be hospitalized since Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center’s Critical Respiratory Care Unit. Currently a ventilator is assisting her breathing and a portable dialysis machine is performing her kidney functions.

We are continuing to pray daily for her full restoration and deliverance from this illness and are asking you to do the same. God is working on her and we believe that she will be healed.

In the meantime, we are requesting those who can assist financially to please donate to help defray her medical costs and her monthly expenses as she is hospitalize. If your heart is so inclined, please donate to Andrea as every dollar helps. Her family and friends have created a “Go Fund Me” account in order to collect donations.

September is National Sickle Cell Awareness Month. The disease affects nearly 1 out of every 500 Black or African-American births and about 1 out of every 36,000 Hispanic-American births. We are also asking everyone, especially African-Americans to give blood to assist patients with SCD.
