Save Gary’s Home from Tax Foreclosure

I’m raising money for a client who is about to have his *paid off* home foreclosed on for delinquent taxes in Van Buren County.
I have spoken with the Treasurer and the total due for the tax year in question is $2464.87. He has $900, so he needs another roughly $1565 BY MONDAY to save his home.
- he has asked his employer for an advance and they said no
- his son died of a heroin overdose at age 17 and he ended up in jail for a year because they were together when he overdosed, even though he tried to get his son in rehab just 8 days earlier; he came out to tax delinquency and no job and has been struggling ever since
- his wife recently had heart surgery and he can’t take on a second job because he has to care for her
Most programs are going to take too long to come through, so I’m asking for y’all to help fill the gap and allow this man and his wife to keep their home.
