Josh was born in Carencro, Louisiana and graduated from Carencro High School in 2006. He attended attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for 4 years and subsequently transferred to Ross University in Saint Kitts. In order to fulfill his lifelong dream, Josh returned to Louisiana State University to complete his degree in veterinary science.
In April 2013, Josh married his high school sweetheart Morgan Fogleman. Josh and Morgan began their new life together by purchasing land to build a home and start a family. In May 2014, they welcomed their beautiful daughter, Milly Elizabeth Ardoin.
In July 2014, Josh was diagnosed with Extraosseous Ewing's Sarcoma. Extraosseous Ewing's Sarcoma is a rare and aggressive bone cancer, where the tumor is outside the bone. In July, he had surgery to remove the tumor from his temple and when the results came back, he was informed that the tumor was in fact malignant. He then had a CT done and they found that it had not spread to any other parts of his body.
Josh then met with doctors at one of the best cancer hospitals in the world, Md Anderson in Houston, Texas. The doctors have set up a treatment plan for him to ensure there are no molecular cells that could have been missed by the scan and to ensure it does not return, because Ewing's Sarcoma is such a fast growing and rigorous cancer.
Josh will undergo rigorous chemotherapy and radiation treatment to overcome this life - threatening disorder. He has been through his first two chemotherapy sessions already. He will continue the chemo 4 days a week, every 3 weeks, for the next 30 weeks. After that, he will undergo radiation plus chemotherapy for 12 weeks, with another surgery being a possibility.
Josh's life, his plans on building his first home, and his veterinarian practice are currently on hold to complete the course of his treatment. Needless to say, Josh is a pillar to society- hard working, respected, reliable, and selfless. This Facebook page is dedicated to Josh. Additionally, we will provide updates on his progress, and it will be a port for everyone to provide well wishes, prayers, much needed encouragement, and to make donations in assisting Josh to achieving his goals.
