European Taekwondo Competition

Hi everyone, my name is Catherine Petrakis and am a 20 year old Taekwondo athlete from Australia. In approximately one month I will be heading over to Europe to compete in the Netherlands and Belgium Opens. Although it is relatively last minute, it would largely be appreciated if I was assisted however way possible in terms of sponsorship.

As a young girl growing up in the sport, I have developed a passion for Taekwondo not only because I have learnt valuable lessons but also because it has allowed me to give back to my community. In order to continue this journey, I have decided to pursue Taekwondo further and look towards competing in the Australian World Championship Selections in 2019. If successful, I will be able to represent Australia in the 2019 World Taekwondo Championships in Manchester. Although I have competed in various National events and have won numerous titles, it is now necessary to compete on an international spectrum. This is necessary for the preparation and experience to develop into a stronger Taekwondo athlete especially from an international standard. What a better way to start the new year with these two competitions

As events like these are particularly expensive to attend due to the distance, it does place financial strain on a student who tries to balance out her sporting goals along with her university degree. As an emerging Australian athlete, who has not yet received national funding, I am looking for the support of the wider Martial Arts community to help turn this dream into a reality.
