European auditions for Jillian

Last spring, after a particularly moving operatic experience, I recommitted myself to performing opera. I love this art form! Whether I’m practicing, rehearsing, or performing, both my body and soul ring with the vibrancy of music. (I also like pop and many other kinds of music—I even started out as a pop singer.)
For as long as I can remember, Europe has called to my soul. And practically, there are simply more opportunities there for a classical singer. On September 29, I leave for over two months to audition and gain further experience with the European side of this beautiful art form. I plan to spend a significant amount of my time in Germany.
For many years I tried to pursue this operatic career on my own. I ran a private voice studio and held a position as Director of Music at a local church. And loved all the people I worked with. :) That being said, now it’s time to sing opera full-time.

I open my heart wide to being vulnerable, to asking for help. As I offer my artistic, musical, and spiritual resources to the world, I trust there are others who are blessed with financial resources.
I have budgeted about $10,000 for the upcoming audition trip to Europe, and I humbly ask for assistance. I will use these funds for lodging, travel, food, coachings, and audition fees. Thank you in advance! In gratitude for your support, I offer a recording of the aria “Vissi d’arte,” from Puccini’s Tosca. I had the great privilege of performing the role of TOSCA last summer and look forward to singing it many more times!
