An automobile accident a few years ago left me with a neck injury and the loss of my job. I've been unsuccessful in finding regular work since. Although funds come in from odd jobs such as sewing custom outfits and taking portraits, I have run out of savings.
I am several months behind in rent and could use some help.
Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far, I was able to deliver the first installment of back rent.
A second payment of $1500 is expected soon to avoid eviction.
Contributions will be used to pay remaining past due rent and overdue bills as I look for a steady income. My three cats, a rabbit and two parakeets will still have a home.I will be able to continue developing my new business making/selling handmade books and cyanotype prints.
If this drive is successful, I can stay and grow my business, adding new products such as hand crafted clothing, bags and blankets.
I’d be able to work on book collaborations with other artists and writers. As my business expands, I could hire other artists and mentor young people. Eventually, I’d like to pay it forward by donating hand sewn pamphlets to my favorite volunteer organizations. As part of LA Green Grounds, we help people set up and maintain food gardens where they live. In the long run, I’d like to partner up with a few people to build a permaculture farm/retreat. There, kids can study art and writing along with the art of good food/good health in an environment with lots of sky and animals.

I want people to enjoy these little things that I make, have my blankets around their children, my books filling up with their poems and drawings, their love notes sent on my postcards.
Your donation will keep a roof over my head as I work towards self-sufficiency in this difficult job market. It will also be an investment in arts and craftsmanship, in holding onto, creating and sharing one's dreams.
